What is the benefit childcare costs?

🧸 Getting childcare costs reimbursed: It’s that simple!

Whether it’s a kindergarden or childminder, with the ‘Childcare Costs’ benefit, you can easily get your childcare costs reimbursed by your employer.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to activate the benefit in the :pxtra app and submit your supporting documents.



💰 How much will be reimbursed?

First things first: there’s no fixed maximum amount for the reimbursement of your childcare costs. The only thing that matters is the actual cost you incur.

The amount is limited only by your personal benefits budget. You have two options:

  1. Full amount: You claim the full cost (up to the limit of your budget).

  2. Partial amount: You can claim a partial refund so that you still have some of your budget left for other benefit modules. If the costs are only covered on a pro-rata basis, simply noting the partial amount on the original invoice is sufficient.

 

🚀 Step 1: Activate the benefit

Open the benefit in the app. After a brief introduction, you’ll see all the key details at a glance (e.g. what supporting documents we need).

Specify how much of your budget you’d like to use towards childcare costs and confirm your selection.

Good to know: The benefit is automatically activated from the following month.

 

📄 Step 2: Upload your contract or receipt

Once the benefit is active, we’ll need you to provide us with a one-off copy of your childcare contract showing the costs.

  • In the app, tap the ‘Childcare costs’ tile and then the ‘Upload receipt’ button.

  • Upload a PDF or simply select a photo from your gallery.

  • Select the current month as the validity period and click ‘Next’.

  • Now enter a few more details: billing type (fixed amount, variable amount or special arrangement), the monthly costs and, optionally, an end date or whether you’re sharing the costs with someone.

  • Check & submit: At the end, you’ll see an overview of all the details. Have a quick look over it and submit the receipt.



👀 Step 3: Review & monthly confirmation

Once you’ve submitted it, we’ll review your receipt. If we have any questions, we’ll get in touch with you via the chat in the app (you’ll also receive an email notification, of course).

If everything is in order and the receipt is approved, the rest almost takes care of itself:

  • Monthly confirmation: From now on, all you need to do is log into the app once a month to confirm that the costs are still being incurred.

  • Changes? If anything changes, simply upload a new receipt. Otherwise, you won’t need to upload a new one for another year.

 

🗓️ Important deadlines (to ensure you receive your money on time)

  • By the 5th of the following month: You must have submitted your receipts or completed your monthly expense confirmation in the app by this date.

  • Payment: The reimbursement will always be paid into your account the month after submission/confirmation, along with your normal payslip.

 

⚠️ Important: Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse your expenses unless you have uploaded a receipt or submitted your monthly confirmation in the app. So it’s best to remember to do this in good time!
